BailaFest 2024 Chandigarh's Latin Fest success festival & a Heartfelt Thank You

The idea behind BailaFest was simple: to bring the Latin dance culture closer to dancers in and around Chandigarh and Punjab, giving them an experience they usually seek in far-off festivals. Now that our first edition has concluded, I'm filled with happiness and pride. We aimed to create a warm, fun, and educational atmosphere—and it’s a joy to say that we achieved it without any major hitches. BailaFest 2024 Chandigarh's Latin Fest success festival.

Thanking the Participants

The energy and involvement from our participants were beyond expectations. The excitement in the workshops and socials was infectious, and the appreciation for our 1.5-hour workshops, many of which were progressive, was heartwarming.

To everyone who joined us for the first time, thank you for believing in us. Your support was the cornerstone of our success, and we hope to see you back again, dancing and learning with us in the future.

Appreciating the Artists

Our artists were the heartbeat of BailaFest. They didn’t just perform—they became part of our family. Special thanks to:

• Alex Diaz for his incredible workshops and for making our performance night unforgettable as the emcee.

• Cornel & Rithika for giving us their best despite a tight schedule with their own event around the corner.

• Suraj for his super fun workshops and mesmerizing performances.

• Mrinmayee and Pratik for enlightening Kizomba workshops and a spectacular performance.

• Megha Khatri for being nothing short of the best in both her workshop and performance.

• Anshika and Manish for beautifully blending Bollywood and Bachata.

• Divit for his impressive dancing at the social and an excellent workshop.

• Sameer and Shenny for bringing unmatched energy and fun to the dance floor.

Their presence and dedication were key to making BailaFest a success. They ensured everyone felt involved and valued.

Recognizing the DJs

Our social nights wouldn’t have been the same without the incredible music from our DJs:

• Michael James for setting the perfect vibe each night.

• Ankur for his amazing mixes that kept the energy high.

• Lakshay for his passion and skill in keeping the dance floor alive.

Their music was the soul of our socials, making each night a memorable experience.

Recognizing the Team

BailaFest was more than just an event—it was a labor of love. Lakshay, the driving force behind it all, worked tirelessly from day one, finding the perfect venue and hosting precursor events across the country. Anu played an essential role, ensuring every participant felt comfortable and well taken care of.

We faced challenges, particularly with our budget and the lack of support from other dance schools. But our teamwork—our shared vision and unwavering dedication—helped us overcome these hurdles and turn BailaFest into a resounding success.

Facing Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was the struggle to attract participants and the lack of support from some local dance communities. However, we were determined not to compromise on quality—whether it was our lineup of artists, the venue, or the overall production.

Despite these challenges, we managed to bring together a fantastic group of people and create an event that was not only successful but also meaningful.

Looking Forward

BailaFest 2024 taught us invaluable lessons. Moving forward, we aim to make the event even bigger and grander for Season 2. We’re taking all the feedback we received to heart and will use it to refine and enhance our future events.
